The Inca culture originated in what is now modern day Peru. The Inca culture started in the early 13th century. The Incans were in civil war with each other in 1529-32. There were many city-states covering the Incan world, which spread across most of the western and northern South America. Their religion was based on spoken traditions and they were heavy believers in reincarnation. They worshiped many gods and goddesses.
They had a set of social structures, which included emperors, nobles, priest, craftsmen, architects, farmers, and slaves. Most of their economy was based upon farming. The capital city of the Incan civilization was Cusco, which is named after the great Incan leader Cusco. They built buildings, houses, cities, and everything else out of stone. These were built by slaves and the working class.
Their military was made up of villagers and farmers that became soldiers in war time. They wore helmets, carried round or square shields, and wore cloth tunics with wood planks to protect their spine. They had no access to iron or steal, so their weaponry was made of bronze or wood. They also carried sling shots and stone headed battle axes.
Aside from the constant civil war, the Incas also were taken over by the Spanish conquistadore Francisco Pizarro in 1532. This conquest in 1572 marked the end of the Inca Empire. When the Spanish took over, they converted all of the Incas into Christians.
